About Milica

Milica graduated from the University of Illinois with a BAS in Psychology. On a mission to learn Spanish, she moved to Spain where she taught English proficiency to students grades K-12 at a local private school. In her free time, Milica privately tutored college students and professionals where she helped adult students pass professional proficiency exams according to the European Union’s standards. After spending a year in Spain, Milica moved to Chicago to attend DePaul University College of Law where she was actively involved in various extracurricular activities such as Mock Trial, Trial Advocacy, the University’s Health Law Journal, and many others. Milica credits these experiences with her proficiency as a teacher, writer and public speaker. While attending law school Milica worked in several Chicago high schools where she helped students achieve academic success in reading comprehension and writing. She also co-taught both regular and Advanced Placement (AP) government and politics courses. During this time, Milica developed a creative approach teaching students at various stages in their academic journey (e.g. advanced learners to diverse learners - learners with special needs). Milica worked successfully with students experiencing writer's anxiety and writer's block. Through advanced pedagogical techniques Milica helps students understand assignments and guides students to develop original ideas and responses. In Milica’s experience, this approach has led to increased confidence in her students.

About the lesson

Milica believes a successful lesson leads students to their own understanding. Through advanced pedagogical techniques, Milica leads students to their own understanding of the material before beginning the writing process. Milica then helps students use this understanding to organize thoughts and formulate thoughtful, coherent and original responses. Milica not only teaches students to write, but also teaches students how to think about writing. This is an invaluable tool and asset to any writer, speaker and thinker!
