About Spencer
I have a passion for teaching and find it very rewarding seeing the students I'm teaching understand and develop on the concepts I've been teaching them. Beyond my teaching career I'm 23 years old, originally from New Zealand and I moved to London to experience the wonders of the world and a different culture. I enjoy climbing, snorkelling, motorcross, building and travelling. I have a degree in Biotechnology and I'm always researching new discoveries as inspiration for what I might focus on during my master's degree.

My lessons are tailored to the students needs, I always begin a session with a brief introduction and ask what is currently being taught. From here we identify what the weaknesses and strengths are in the students math knowledge and reinforce the knowledge they're not so confident with. I build questions that get progressively harder and begin to incorporate new methods of solving an equation, this might also identify missing knowledge. When they're struggling with a problem, I'll give little clues in solving the problem as I think this is the best way of learning instead of just being told. I try to incorporate real world scenarios where the math being taught might be relevant, this encourages the student to learn as they know they might need it in the future.
