About Lucas

I am a Deep Sea biologist at the Natural History Museum in London, where I contribute to exciting scientific discoveries and take part in the museum's various public events.

I am a straight A student, achieving As across the board at GCSE and A*AA in A level Maths, Biology and Chemistry respectively.

I will soon graduate from Bangor university with a first in Marine Biology and plan to pursue a career in Biology. I have been accepted onto a postgraduate course at Imperial College London, where I will study biosystematics.

I also work part-time at a school in the holidays, where I take care and tutor children of ages 4-13.

I am passionate about teaching, and my experience in educational backgrounds extends well back into my academic career.

About the lesson

The first session will always begin with discussing our goals, whether it's a significant grade increase, passing a certain exam, or just gaining a better understanding of the topic.

With the student, I will then create a study plan for the foreseeable future and get to work on studying the topic at hand.

Lessons will comprise of an overview and explanation of the topic, followed by practice questions and answers that will be solved with the student. After each lesson, some practice questions will be set and reviewed at the beginning of the next session.

Lessons will typically be an hour long, although I am open for extended lessons. I am available on weekends for home and online tuition.

Online lessons will be through teams, where I will share a screen and go through a custom-made presentation as well as practice questions.

I received As across the board at GCSE Maths and Science, as well as A*AA in A Levels Maths, Biology, and Chemistry respectively.

I have worked with students aged from 4-16, but will happily tutor any age group. I am confident that I can teach GCSE and A Level Maths and Science and help my students achieve their goals.

We went through my homework step by step, did some guided past papers, and just spoke about what exam boards look for in the answers. Lucas helped me out with GCSE Maths. I wasn't quite getting certain concepts and reached out to him for tutoring. He was very patient with me and helped me actually grasp the concepts I struggled with. I always felt comfortable asking him questions (no stupid questions rule!).

In terms of teaching he boiled down the subject matter to something more digestible through the use of PowerPoints. His practice questions definitely helped me pin point which areas I was weak on before my exams.

Overall, I would very much recommend Lucas. If he could help me of all people pass he'd certainly be of help to most!
