About Shakunle

Hello, I’m Joel, a Master’s student in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in the UK with a strong passion for mathematics, physics, and problem-solving.

I decided to become a tutor because I genuinely enjoy helping students understand topics that once felt difficult or overwhelming. I know from experience that the right explanation can completely change a student’s confidence and performance, and that’s what I aim to provide in every lesson.

With a solid academic background and hands-on engineering experience, I bring both theoretical understanding and practical insight into my teaching. I am patient, professional, and committed to creating a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making progress at their own pace.

My goal is not just to help you improve your grades, but to build your confidence, sharpen your thinking, and equip you with the skills needed to succeed independently.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is centred on clarity, structure, and building confidence. As Joel, I focus on simplifying complex concepts in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, and Science into step-by-step explanations that students can easily understand and apply.

My teaching methodology begins with an initial assessment to identify the student’s strengths and weak areas. From there, I create a tailored plan that focuses on core understanding, followed by guided practice and exam-style questions. I emphasise active learning, where students are encouraged to think through problems rather than just memorise solutions.

I also place strong importance on exam techniques, time management, and past paper practice, as these are key to achieving high grades at GCSE and A-Level.

A typical lesson lasts between 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the student’s needs and concentration level. Lessons are interactive, well-structured, and paced to ensure steady progress.

I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in the UK, with a strong academic background in mathematics and physics. I have experience supporting peers and junior students, helping them improve their understanding and performance.

My lessons are designed for GCSE and A-Level students, typically aged 14–18, including those aiming for top grades (A/A*) as well as students who need extra support to build a solid foundation.
