About Ira

I’m a Biology tutor with 5+ years of experience and a MSc in Environmental Biology. My main area of expertise is pharmacology and the science behind drug action. I enjoy helping students understand how medicines work inside the body and how they’re developed. I focus on teaching drug mechanisms, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics in a clear and structured way. From how drugs are absorbed and metabolised to how they bind to receptors, I break down each step using simple language and helpful visuals. I also include real-world case studies in drug development so students can connect theory to practice. We explore how drugs interact with biological systems, looking closely at both benefits and side effects. About the lesson

My teaching approach in Biology is built on encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and evidence-based reasoning. I focus on subjects such as evolutionary biology, natural selection, speciation, and phylogenetics. These topics help students see the bigger picture of how life has changed and adapted over time. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s needs and learning goals. We explore how genetic variation leads to adaptation, and how species evolve through environmental pressures. My sessions are interactive and thoughtful, allowing students to ask questions and develop their own interpretations. I support learners in making strong connections between theory and real-life biological examples. I'm especially skilled at guiding Food Chemists and Green Chemists to understand the role of evolution in shaping biological processes and sustainability. Through structured lessons and deep discussions, students learn to see patterns and ask the “why” behind biological traits. My goal is to help you think like a scientist—carefully, logically, and with wonder. Together, we’ll explore life’s grand narrative and sharpen your ability to explain it with confidence.
