My teaching method is to always have good notes/notetaking strategies. Learn by example, and refer to notes on how to solve problems. It's that simple. Good notes lead to better studying habits (when you understand what your notes mean!) and changing my learning style towards this has allowed me to get straight A's in all of my classes prior to transferring to UC Davis.
