About Tatiana

I am a qualified mathematics and statistics tutor with a Master’s degree in Mathematics and Applied Statistics from the University of Birmingham and professional experience working as a Data Scientist. I have a strong academic background combined with practical, industry-based experience, which allows me to teach maths and statistics in a clear, structured and relevant way.

Throughout my studies and professional career, I have worked extensively with mathematical modelling, probability, statistics and data analysis. I understand both the academic requirements of exams and university courses, as well as how these skills are applied in real-world professional environments.

I am a patient, reliable, and well-organised tutor who takes a professional approach to every lesson. I prepare carefully, adapt my teaching style to each student and focus on building confidence alongside technical understanding. My aim is to help students feel more comfortable with maths and statistics and to support them in achieving their academic goals.

I work with GCSE and A-Level students, as well as undergraduate university students, and I am happy to tailor lessons to individual needs, whether the goal is exam preparation, improving foundational knowledge or gaining a deeper understanding of the subject.

I value clear communication, consistency, and a supportive learning environment and I take pride in delivering high-quality, professional tutoring.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is focused on clear understanding, structured learning, and confidence-building. I believe that mathematics and statistics should make sense, not feel intimidating, so I adapt each lesson to the student’s level, goals and learning style.

I begin by identifying any gaps in understanding and then explain concepts step by step, using simple language, visual explanations and real-world examples where appropriate. I place strong emphasis on why methods work, not just how to apply formulae. Practice questions are used throughout the lesson to reinforce learning and prepare students for exams.

A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, which allows enough time for explanation, guided practice, and questions. Longer sessions can be arranged for exam preparation or university-level topics.
