About Hong

I try to tailor my technique to my students but in general I try to ensure that students have an intuitive understanding of the concepts that I teach them. This is especially so in the domain of mathematics and programming where the formula and ideas can be very abstract. I like visualising and drawing graphs and diagrams as it can usually get the point across pretty effectively. I'll also sometimes create animations which illustrate the concepts that I teach. In my years of tutoring, I've also developed a sixth-sense of sorts to pick up when students aren't really grasping the ideas but are afraid to speak up.
