About Maya

I'm a Computer Science graduate with a strong foundation in Python, SQL, and data analysis, built through both my degree and a Data Science internship where I worked on real NLP projects like sentiment analysis and intent recognition. Beyond the internship, I've built complete analytics projects from scratch — cleaning data, running analysis, and presenting results through dashboards and reports.
I started teaching because I remember how confusing these concepts felt when I was learning them myself, and I want to make that path easier for others. I believe the best way to learn Python or SQL isn't through memorizing syntax, but through solving real problems and understanding why each step matters. I'm patient, approachable, and genuinely enjoy watching a concept finally click for someone.

About the lesson

My classes follow a hands-on structure: we start with the core concept explained simply, then move straight to applying it on a real dataset — no toy examples that don't transfer to actual work. Each session ends with something built, whether that's a query, a script, or a small analysis, so progress is visible every time.
I structure sessions around where you're starting from: absolute beginners get a slower, foundation-first pace, while those prepping for interviews or projects get focused problem-solving on the exact areas they're stuck on. I keep explanations conversational rather than lecture-style, and I'm happy to adapt the plan session to session based on what's actually clicking or not.
My classes are best suited for college students learning Python or SQL for the first time, working professionals upskilling into data roles, and anyone preparing for data analyst interviews who wants targeted practice rather than a generic course.
