About Benjamin

I’m Benjamin, a data engineer based in San Diego with a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UC San Diego. I hold the Snowflake SnowPro Core and Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) certifications, and I earned the Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203) certification before it was retired. Before moving into data engineering, I spent two years as a tutor at Miramar College, working with students at all levels both through the campus tutoring center and as a teaching assistant in Math, Chemistry, and Python. I care about meeting students where they are and building genuine understanding rather than just getting through an assignment. I’m patient, reliable, and committed to helping you reach your goals, whether that’s passing a class, building confidence with a subject, or picking up a new skill like programming.

I’m a data engineer with a background in electrical and computer engineering from UC San Diego, and I spent two years tutoring Math, Chemistry, and Python at Miramar College, both through the campus tutoring center and as a teaching assistant. My approach starts by identifying exactly where a concept breaks down for you, then rebuilding understanding step by step with practice problems suited to your level, whether that’s middle school algebra, high school chemistry, or introductory Python programming. A typical lesson begins with a quick review of recent coursework, works through examples together, and ends with practice you can apply on your own. What sets me apart is real industry experience: I use Python and SQL daily as a data engineer, so I can connect classroom concepts to how they’re actually used in practice. My lessons are a good fit for middle school through college students looking for patient, practical help in math, chemistry, or Python.
