About Abby
I am currently in the third year at university studying a History BA, in which I am currently on track to receive a first class degree. I have always enjoyed learning and I think a lot of that comes from the way you are taught, I hope to give students the experience of enjoying their learning while also improving their understanding. My love of learning and tutoring has inspired me to pursue teaching in the future. I put a lot of time and effort into my lesson plans and catering them to individuals as I enjoy it and it is great preparation for my future teaching career.

All lesson plans are entirely catered to the student - Both building upon their strength while also giving time to their weaker areas in order to see improvement. The lessons objectives follow the aims of the national curriculum and will go hand in hand with what the student is learning that week in order to build a much fuller understanding of the subject. Lessons generally consist of a short 10-15 minute presentation to refresh the student on the subject, and the rest of the session is activity-based to fully apply the learning; however, this can be adjusted depending upon the way the student engages/learns best. Each lesson is typically 1 hour as find this is best for keeping engagement levels up throughout the entirety of the session.
I teach both English and Maths up to GCSE level, in both of which I achieved an A and I aim to push the students I tutor to the best of their capability in order to achieve the best grades. I have worked as a tutor for 2 years teaching Maths and English, so I am very experienced with students of all ages with varying capabilities. I hope you will consider me for your tutoring program.
