About Douglas
Hi I am 21 living in London and studying Theoretical physics. I genuinely enjoy teaching as I've been coaching and tutoring for maths, physics, tennis, general summer camp activities since I've been in year 11. I think the main point about tutoring is to try out a few things and see what works best for you but also keep it engaging and light-hearted and leave the serious stuff to the exams.
I am looking to tutor for all ages and exams so please get in touch if you are interested and I will be looking forward to being your tutor.

Firstly if there is anything specific you would like I would do that, whether that be focus on a topic you haven't fully understood in class and the teacher has moved on, or perhaps its the tricky exam style questions that just need to be practiced over and over again, or there's a method a teacher has taught but it might not be the best for you (the secret of maths is physics is that there's usually multiple ways to tackle a problem).
Other than that if this is for GCSE or A levels I would see where you have gotten up to in class and what your current grade is, maybe look over a paper you have been given back that is marked to go through. Teach some alternative methods or explanations for the topics you are currently needing to study to make sure you have the concept fully understood before jumping straight into the exam questions. However some student like just having a crack at the questions they haven't learnt how to do yet and go over them after to see.
In all I think that grades aren't always the best indicator for how well you are doing in the subject as everyone learns in different ways and a teacher with a full class doesn't have time to be tailored to each student's specific needs and I would more focus on the best way to help you.
