About Alex
I have taken up tutoring as a way of consolidating my current learning and doing something for myself outside of my current studies. I love teaching and initially completed my BSc in Psychology with Education, it remained something I do 'for fun' even through completing my doctoral training at the moment.
I have primarily worked with students within an SEN setting and I am very happy to work with those who have additional and/or complex needs.
The sessions can be tailored to you; however, I am unable to offer more than 90 minutes at a time as I don't believe anymore than this is beneficial for learning.
I have primarily offered support to young people with social communication needs. Within this, I have been tutoring irregularly for roughly 6 years. More recently, I have supported A-Level Psychology students and young people aged 10-16 with general studies, executive function coaching and interpersonal skills.
I am unable to take on several students due to the demands of my training; I typically accept 2 students on a planned-ahead basis at one time and create an initial plan collaboratively in order to manage my time.
Some people have sports, some have hobbies - this is mine! I am a late-diagnosed neurodivergent (and a therapist in my day job!) so feel able to connect with people slightly differently. Especially those that struggle to learn in a system that wasn't built for us.
