About Rylan
My degrees are both from the University of South Florida, Tampa, and I am a Florida local. I have been tutoring students at many different centers and privately for years. The biggest issue I’ve seen students have with math is confidence. Confidence is THE key to success in mathematics. Oftentimes questions can confuse you at a first glance and immediately destroy your confidence. However, they typically can be reworded/thought of in a much easier way that you have seen before. Each question we attempt, I try to break it down into much more understandable pieces. Each step we take, I try to give a justification as to why we are able to take that step. In addition, I always try to give reminders and clues to look for when you see similar questions to those we’ve answered before.

My tutoring style focuses on finding out where the missing gaps of understanding are. Sometimes there are none and simple practice/question solving while steps are being explained to students works wonders. Having had my fair share of difficulty understanding math growing up, I know that each day brings a new lesson and a new challenge that was built upon yesterdays lesson and challenge, etc, and the goal with me is to get ahead of the curve so confusion does not come into play and ruin a students motivation.
