About George
I play several sports including badminton, fencing and running. I also have a love for hiking and have completed the Tongariro crossing several times. Besides sports, I like debating and being part of the debating club at the University of Auckland and I enjoy taking part in roles that involve helping and communicating with others. I've worked as a teaching assistant at Auckland part-time, been a retail assistant and volunteered at English Language Partner at the English Language Academy at UoA. I strongly believe in the power of education to improve one's life. Through education and awareness about the world, one can lead a more fulfilling and better lifestyle. All forms of education about the world (whether in science or trades) are essential for personal development. It gives me satisfaction to help others understand concepts and subject matter since you know that by teaching someone, you are helping them grow as a person.

I have excellent grades at University and High School and excellent communication skills from my time in Teaching Assistant positions while at University. Usually, my lessons run for one hour. My main teaching areas are NCEA Level 1, 2 and 3 Chemistry, Biology, History and NCEA Level 1 Mathematics and English. My usual teaching techniques involve asking students what their weaknesses in a subject are and focusing on that. I also like to illustrate concepts by using online software such as Annotate.
