About Ella
I am currently a Master of Data Science student at the University of British Columbia. My academic background combines economics and data science, with a strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, and logical reasoning. Throughout my studies, I have developed a structured way of thinking and problem-solving, which I bring into my teaching.
I believe that mathematics is not about memorizing formulas but about understanding patterns and building confidence. Having experienced both Asian and Western education systems, I understand different learning styles and expectations. My goal is to help students develop clarity, independence, and long-term academic skills, especially those considering future STEM pathways.

I focus on building strong conceptual foundations in mathematics rather than just solving problems step by step. My lessons are structured and personalized based on each student’s current level and goals. I help students improve confidence, problem-solving skills, and logical thinking. For students interested in STEM pathways, I also introduce connections between math, coding, and real-world applications to make learning more meaningful and future-oriented.
