About Oliver
Hey, I’m Oliver and I’m a student studying biochemistry. As a student, I better understand what it’s like to study and I have methods and techniques that actually work which I used to succeed. I enjoy sharing these with my students and seeing them go on and do amazing things, whether it’s getting the grades they wanted or developing a passion for the subject. I have 3 years of experience under my belt, working with a wide range of students of various ages. If you’re looking for someone who’s been in your shoes and knows how to get results, I’d love to work with you.

I have a couple of different styles of lessons depending on the needs of the student. If the student is struggling with a certain topic, I usually reteach the entire topic to make sure any misunderstandings are ironed out.
Alternatively, if the student has demonstrated that they have a good understanding of the subject overall, then I focus on getting the student ready for exams by developing their exam technique as well as overall understanding of the subject. I would usually do this by giving the student hand-picked exam questions that address their weaker areas.
The primary platforms I use are OneNote and Teams. I use OneNote to show the student visual cues and diagrams to help them stay engaged and allow them to see a visual representation of what they are learning about. I also make sure students take notes, which I will be looking over to make sure they haven’t missed out any important points. I usually set homework due for the next lesson and open the lesson either by going through their feedback or with starter questions to help the student to get into the correct mindset for the lesson.
