About Inwook

I’m a 3rd-year medical student at Brighton & Sussex Medical School (BSMS) and a graduate of North London Collegiate School Jeju, where I completed the IB Diploma (40/45) and earned 10 A*s at IGCSE. My strongest subjects have always been maths and the sciences — achievements like 1st Place in Virtual Chemistry Olympiad, Silver in the Intermediate Biology Olympiad, and Bronze in the British Biology Olympiad pushed me to understand these subjects at a deeper level and strengthened the way I now teach them.

For the past 3+ years, I’ve tutored students across South Korea, the UK, Spain, Vietnam, Malaysia, Brazil, Canada and Indonesia — helping them with IB Maths AA HL, IB Chemistry, IB Biology, IB Psychology (new syllabus), as well as IGCSE Sciences, Additional/Extended Maths, and even AMC competition maths. Many of these students have significantly improved, including those who moved from predicted C → A or borderline B/A → strong A in their final IGCSE or IB assessments.

Outside tutoring, I’ve also completed academic and research projects — from winning 1st Place in a biomedical research presentation on telemedicine to leading trauma workshops and conducting science-based extracurriculars. These experiences shaped my teaching style: clear, structured, and grounded in real understanding.

About the lesson

I specialise in IB Maths, Chemistry, Biology, Psychology and IGCSE sciences + Additional/Extended Maths, and every lesson is built around your syllabus, your level, and your goals.

My approach is simple: we start by fixing the confusion, then we train the exam technique.

At the beginning, we figure out where things are actually breaking down for you — is it the core concept, the way the question is worded, or the strategy for answering it? In lessons I ask “why?” a lot and encourage you to explain ideas back to me in your own words. Whether it’s functions and vectors, stoichiometry and energetics, genetics, or research methods in psychology, the focus is on making the ideas feel logical, not random.

Once the foundation is solid, we move into targeted practice using past papers and carefully chosen problems. We start with accessible questions to build confidence, then gradually add more challenging, exam-style twists so you learn how to handle unfamiliar questions without panicking.

I use my own notes, diagrams and visual explanations to make abstract topics easier to see and remember, and you’ll have access to all of these resources. After each lesson, you’ll know exactly what we covered, where you improved, and what to work on before the next session.

The atmosphere is friendly and supportive, but still focused and purposeful. My aim isn’t just to help you get through homework — it’s to help you feel in control of the subject and ready for your exams.
