About Melody Fanaian
Learning is not meant to be easy! As a student myself attending McMaster University I know that school and especially the sciences like Chemistry, Biology and Calculus are extremely difficult. However, reaching out for support is the first step in improving your learning journey. For over year I have been a tutor and understand that understanding a concept is vastly more important simply memorizing a concept. My strategy implements various techniques and usages of my own personal study resources to help get students to understand the material at a deeper critical thinking level. There is no need to make learning harder than it needs to be when we can maximize our time by being efficient!

In tutoring sessions, it is extremely important to tailor the sessions to what fits the student and their goals as well as learning at a pace that is both engaging and comfortable. A typical lesson plan includes first assessing where we are and need to be followed by various practice materials provided to apply knowledge in different contexts. One of my strengths is my ability to adapt to the student and provide various explanations and examples to the same concept as I know how difficult it can be to grasp a certain idea only presented in one way. The lessons I provide are for students between grades 9-12 who are in chemistry, evolutionary biology and calculus/advanced functions based courses.
