About Michael
Languages are a strong passion of mine and I have studied them throughout high school and university. Helping others learn and communicate with foreign languages are goals I am looking forward to achieving after college.
I currently attend the University of Denver after high school, where I scored the highest on the state led French proficiency test, achieved an advanced level mark for conversation skills, and won French student of the year in 2020.
My two majors are international studied with a specialization in international security, and languages, literatures, and cultures with a concentration in Chinese.
I am currently enrolled in a class which offers certification in proficiency in terms of French language use in international relations where I will be compiling a portfolio and conducting a presentation on a pressing global issue.
I have some previous tutoring experience with high school level students, and I enjoy explaining complex grammar, helping you understand how to think in French and how to rationalize it with or without English. I am good with vocabulary, pronunciation, studying, editing papers, and having conversation.
I believe learning a language is an amazing thing you can do for yourself, and it is something I would enjoying helping you progress in!

Lessons will be individually created based on the student's needs and/or interests, but lessons will involve all four aspects of reading, writing, listening, and speaking to ensure more than one part of your brain is absorbing French. I hope you consider me as your tutor and I look forward to meeting you.
The type of French taught will be concurrent with current standard French taught in American educational institutions. This means grammar will differ from other unstandardized dialects such as those used in Canada and many nations spanning the continent of Africa. While standard French is not colloquially common in these reasons, it is still considered intelligible to francophone speakers outside France and a valuable skill to have abroad.

I've always thought French to be a difficult language and never believed I could learn it, but Michael truly proved me wrong and I am very glad he did. He has helped me so much with my French.
