About Madeleine
After years of experience studying Spanish, working with students, and exploring abroad, I have grown a passion for teaching cultures and human advocacy. Currently, I am a female graduate student at the University of San Diego pursuing an International Peace and Justice degree, and I got my BA in International Politics & Diplomacy with minors in Spanish and Sociology. My past jobs opportunities with American legislators, Chilean think tanks, and local substitute teaching classrooms have each prepared me to work with all types of students and inspire unique enthusiasm for learning.

Hello! My goal with tutoring is to not only help students learn course material, but to ignite creativity for each topic and encourage excitement for studying. Because people have a wide range of skills and education levels, I meet my students where they are at and create a specialized lesson plan around them. I prepare lessons for students needing help with Spanish, government, and English. Depending on the subject and student, a typical day of tutoring could include one-on-one discussion, prepared practice exercises, review videos, and real-life experience (for example, a Spanish lesson could include conversational practice, grammar problems, watching an short episode of Spanish TV, or visiting a Spanish market for language immersion). I am willing to tutor over the computer, in residential homes, or meetups in public places--whatever the student is most comfortable with-- and my lessons can be adjusted to any Kindergarten- 12th grade student.
