About Kate

I am an experienced Maths teacher currently working as the head of GCSE Maths in a secondary school. I currently work as an examiner and as such, can offer expert advice and support to help you achieve the highest grades at GCSE. I have taught thousands of students throughout my career and am passionate about finding the right way of learning Maths for you as an individual. Whether the focus is passing your GCSE to achieving a grade 9, I have the resources and knowledge to help.

About the lesson

My teaching method is based around 'Mastery of Mathematics'. This involves teaching Maths as a more continuous subject, where the topics interlink and form building blocks upon which other concepts are built.
This differs from the traditional approach, which teaches Maths as a subject formed of individual non-connecting topics.
My approach has helped secondary school pupils reduce the amount that they have to 'memorise' and instead improve their understanding of Mathematics, and has therefore improved their attainment at GCSE.

My online lessons will be based around one key concept that you are initially struggling with - the sessions will work on understanding it to a deep level before looking at how it connects (and therefore supports) other Maths topics.
