My lessons are ALWAYS student-centered. That means that each time we have a session, I will ask you what you've been learning and what you've been struggling with the most. From there, I will curate a lesson plan specific to your needs. I incorporate practice problems as a huge learning modality, as I believe that learning through making mistakes is paramount and prevents mistakes from happening in the future. I think that learning by doing and practicing is the best way to learn. I also will try to minimize the amount of "lecturing" I do. I don't think that if I am speaking and lecturing so much that the student is fully engaged and extracting as much as possible from the lesson, so you'll always be given ample time to ask questions, show me your skills so I can help identify your strengths and weaknesses, and participate in your own learning.
