About Naya
Hi! My name is Naya and I am currently a freshman at Lafayette College in Pennsylvania studying bioengineering. I was originally born in Syria before my parents decided to move to the United States. I currently live in New Jersey and I basically grew up there. I was involved in many clubs during high school. I was drum major of my school's marching band and president of several clubs and honor societies. I enjoyed those leadership roles as each one taught me something new. At home, I speak Arabic so leaving my house is like going into a whole new culture. I am very adaptable and love learning new methods to learning different subjects!

I believe that every person has a different approach to learning, and I also believe that I am someone who can adapt quickly to someone and learn how they learn best. I think I approach people very easily, and people want to approach me when help is needed, especially in school. I know sometimes teachers at school don't teach a lesson very well, and they make it very difficult to understand. I have experienced so many different teachers and teaching methods until I learned that the best way for me to learn is if I teach myself. I am able to approach a problem easily and break it down into what information is given and what information is needed. I like helping those who need help and I liked approaching work the way they approach it, because I enjoy learning how different people learn and how I can help them.
