About Sam

I'm a First Class Chemistry graduate from the University of St Andrews with a passion for helping students build confidence and achieve their academic potential. As I am currently studying Biology at postgraduate level, having achieved A*s at both GCSE and A-Level Biology myself, I understand how challenging GCSE and A-Level subjects can be, particularly when complex topics aren't explained clearly. My aim is to make difficult concepts easier to understand and help students develop the confidence to tackle unfamiliar questions independently. I'm friendly, patient and approachable, and I believe that creating a relaxed learning environment is key to helping students succeed. When it comes to examination boards, I am fully flexible; however, I do specialise in Edexcel, AQA and OCR.

About the lesson

My lessons are tailored to each student's individual needs, whether that's building confidence in difficult topics, strengthening subject knowledge or preparing for upcoming GCSE and A-Level examinations. I combine clear, step-by-step explanations with interactive problem-solving and exam-style questions to help students develop both their understanding and examination technique. I place particular emphasis on working through challenging questions together, identifying areas for improvement and helping students become confident in applying their knowledge independently. Having previously helped students achieve high grades at GCSE and A-Level, I understand the importance of balancing a strong understanding of the subject with effective exam preparation. Whether you're aiming for top grades or simply looking to improve your confidence, my goal is to make lessons engaging, supportive and productive.
