About Ying Zi

Hey! I’m currently studying Actuarial Science at LSE, and I tutor Maths, Physics, and Further Maths for IGCSE and A-Level students. I’ve been tutoring for about a year now, and I really enjoy helping students feel more confident and actually get the subjects they’re studying. I did pretty well in my A-Levels—got an A* in Maths (94), A* in Physics (90), A in Further Maths (89), and A in Economics (80)—so I know how tough it can be, but also what strategies work. I’m a pretty patient and approachable tutor. I try to make my lessons fun and interactive, and I always adapt to how you like to learn. Whether you prefer asking questions throughout or doing more hands-on practice, I’ve got you. And if something doesn’t make sense during class, don’t worry—I’m also available after to answer questions, and I’ll get back to you within 12 hours. More than anything, I care about making sure you actually understand the content and enjoy the process. That’s what really helps you do well in the long run!

About the lesson

My teaching style is really flexible. I designed tutoring programme to suit your learning preferences—whether you prefer a Q&A format or more hands-on practice during class. You're always encouraged to ask questions (seriously, ask anything), and if something doesn’t click right away, I’ll be around after class too with a guarantee to reply within 12 hours. I believe there’s more than one way to solve a problem—especially in maths. We’ll explore different approaches together so you don’t just memorise steps but actually understand what you’re doing. This will really boost your problem-solving skills, especially for maths and economics. Each session usually lasts between 1 to 1.5 hours. I’ve got one year of tutoring experience, and I’m currently studying Actuarial Science at LSE. Lessons are mainly for IGCSE and A-Level students.
