About Ross

Hi, my name is Ross, I am a 24 year old 4th year Medical Student from Manchester. Having achieved 4 A* and 5A's at GCSE, alongside a first class biomedical Science degree, I am confident I can provide valuable lessons for your studies.

I like tutoring to be collaborative, in that we are working together towards your goals. Therefore, we can adapt our approach in order for you to feel the most comfortable and to maximise the benefit from our sessions. I strive for my lessons to be enjoyable and for students to be engaged at every point along the way. I have experience in teaching those of all ages from 8 year olds to those in their first year of medical school. I have spent a significant amount of time researching the process of learning and believe this has been a critical part of my academic success thus far. This means I have many different methods of teaching that can be tailored to suit individual needs.

I am an outgoing, friendly individual with many interests outside of academia. It would be a privilege to be given the opportunity to help you in your academic journey.

About the lesson

Having achieved 4A* and 5A's at GCSE and a 1st class Biomedical Science degree, alongside currently being a 4th year Medical Student, I have ample experience in study methodology.

I strongly believe everybody learns differently. However I have personally tried most, if not all, methods of studying and therefore am able to tailor my approach to individual needs. First and foremost, my lessons should be enjoyable and my students should be engaged in every step of the process.

Some study methods employed in my lessons may include: Powerpoints, Flash cards, Spaced repetition, Timed Mock papers, Reverse teaching, Memory palaces and learning aids.

I have personally delivered many presentations on various scientific topics at national conferences. On top of this, I have given teaching sessions to 1st year university students on 'how to study' which was received very well. Additionally, I was awarded a commendation for organising and teaching physiology to my classmates in the 1st year of my medical degree. I have taught guitar to numerous children aged 8-12 and therefore have experience in teaching all age groups.

Guitar lessons can be delivered for anyone aged 8+
Biology and chemistry GCSE Tutoring can be provided.
Biology A-level tutoring can be provided.
