About Aryan

My name is Aryan Malik, I am 19 and currently studying at the University of Surrey, working towards achieving my degree in Biomedical Engineering (BEng).

The reason I am interested in tutoring is my interest and passion in helping others understand and be able to tackle challenging concepts and gain confidence in their ability. Through my time in school and my degree, I have gained valuable skills in learning how to break down complex concepts and questions in order to make them more understandable and have a firm grasp on what they are and how to go about solving them.

About the lesson

I focus on aiding students build a strong understanding of topics rather than teaching to memorise methods. My goal is to aid students feel confident tackling any problem they are faced with, no matter if they have not come across something of the same nature.

I aim to:
- Focus on breaking down topics to help students understand all parts before piecing it all together
- Work on exam tips and how to tackle unseen problems in exams
- Use real examples to ensure students can tackle the most accurate and realistic questions
- Adapt my teaching style to each student, whether that be more visual learning, discussion based or working through step-by-step to ensure the student can learn in the way they are most suited and comfortable with

I will usually run 60-minute sessions however these can be extended / shortened depending on student preference or situation (maybe a longer session is wanted just before an exam etc.)

I have a strong academic background in my subject (Maths, Physics, Design technology and Biomedical engineering) and having gone through the process of A-Levels, GCSEs and applying to University very recently, I have experience of the situation students may be in and how best to tackle them in order to succeed. I am also familiar with the exam boards used (Edexcel, AQA, OCR etc.) and know the formats of testing and content.

I aim to target my lessons to students aged 11-18, whether it be those who are studying for their GCSEs, A-Levels, 11+/13+ or just students that are struggling with their work or would like to try get ahead. I am available most weekdays and weekends for lessons and am able to stick to the same time every week to help students build a strong routine. I can also offer flexible times as I understand how difficult it is to know what will be happening every week.
