About James
I am a creative writing student with a background in the study of psychology and drama, so clearly, I've had lots of different experiences!
Oftentimes I'm writing, but when I'm not, I play video games, sing, and if the stars align and we're all in the same place at the same time, go and visit friends!
I have been tutoring friends and family in creativity and English for four years now, and I am confident in my ability to teach. What's most important when I'm teaching is understanding who I'm talking to. If I can use appropriate analogies, it's much easier to understand what I'm talking about.
I understand that English isn't for everyone, and I'm not going to pretend like you're wrong if you say you don't like English, but if you don't and you're still on my profile, it's clear you want to learn, and I will do everything in my power to teach.

I teach up to A-Level English Literature and up to GCSE-Level English Language. This is not my first time teaching, as I have worked in youth centers and primary schools, and am currently studying to complete my undergraduate in creative writing.
My lessons tend to be an hour and a half long, though these are flexible timings. They come in two forms: The one-shot lessons are reparative lessons whose goal is to use something the student has written (such as an essay) and identify where they might struggle and what we can put in place to make it easier. This is a great idea for a first free session to see if you like the way I teach. If you get a bad mock back and want some help, this might help you.
The continual lessons are multiple sessions where I take a slower, deeper understanding of the student and their relationship to the course and start to work with the perception of the course to help the student face lessons in a better way. If you are struggling with the course as a whole, I can help you here.
