About David
Hello, I'm David. A children's book writer and tutor with a passion for inspiring primary school-aged children to write creatively and successfully. I am also a teacher with over 10 years of experience. I was the English lead at 3 different schools at that time and I taught in every year group for primary-aged children. I'm passionate about helping children to learn to find joy in writing. I like to break tasks down and encourage children to find their voice.
I like lots of discussion and I will ask a lot of questions to make you think about your work really deeply.

We will look at what it means to write creatively. By looking at high-quality examples and unpacking what makes them successful we will be able to develop a toolbox of ideas and techniques that will make you a better writer. I like to teach about the 6 domains (silence vs noise, movement vs stillness, light vs darkness) of creative description and help you to find ways to manipulate them and make you a better writer!
