About Georgia

Hi! I am a trilingual tutor with six years experience teaching English, Maths and humanities subjects with special focus on 7+, 8+, 11+ & 13+ examinations. My teaching experience has its foundation in SEN schools and so my teaching approach centres individual needs as each child requires different approaches and targets - certainly not a one-size-fits-all category! I believe that creating a positive, encouraging environment is essential for a student to thrive, plus sessions become far more accessible and stimulating.

Working 1.5 years for a high-profile family, the focus was on results and examinations so I learnt to balance an intuitive approach whilst consistently reaching targets. I held weekly feedback sessions with the guardians to ensure a clear structure and finalise study plans, and both children achieved entry into their London Independent Schools of choice at 8+ and 11+.

Furthermore, I homeschool, creating bespoke curriculums as part of specialist programmes. Examples include: homeschooling a Year 3 student English, VR, History & Art for Autumn term 2020 and Year 8 student French & Philosophy until end of 2021 academic year.

My tutoring relies on forming a personal connection with my students as much as it does on academic rigour. I am most happy when my students learn to think for themselves, and to explore their subject area beyond the bounds of their curriculum.
