About Ross
With 8 years of experience and a passion for teaching, I help students of all ages develop piano skills and a love for music. I hold Bachelor’s degrees in Music, providing expertise in both theory and performance. I have taught beginners, intermediate learners, and advanced students preparing for exams, recitals, and competitions. My lessons are personalised and student-centred, designed to combine creativity with structured learning. I use real-life examples and case studies to make rhythm, melody, and harmony practical and relatable. Motivation is key, and I encourage students to set goals, track progress, and celebrate achievements. Problem-solving is incorporated to develop critical thinking and independent learning skills. I emphasise integrity, creating a safe, honest, and supportive environment for learning. I am flexible, tailoring lessons to each student’s pace, style, and learning objectives. Along with piano, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, and composition. I prepare students for exams, competitions, and performances while fostering creativity, confidence, and discipline. Lessons are available online or in-person for learners of all ages. I focus on technical skill, musical expression, and fostering a lifelong love for music. Each lesson is structured, motivating, and enjoyable. My ultimate goal is to help students become confident, skilled, and passionate musicians.

My teaching methodology is designed to make piano learning practical, enjoyable, and inspiring. I use real-life examples and case studies to illustrate musical concepts, helping students relate rhythm, melody, and harmony to everyday life, such as movement, speech, and teamwork. I emphasise motivation, guiding students to set personal goals, track their progress, and celebrate achievements to build confidence and maintain enthusiasm. Problem-solving is central to my approach, encouraging students to analyse challenges, experiment with different solutions, and develop independent thinking skills that strengthen both their musicianship and problem-solving abilities. I teach with integrity, maintaining a patient, honest, and respectful environment where students feel safe to take risks, ask questions, and learn from mistakes. I am highly flexible, tailoring lessons to each student’s learning style, goals, age, and skill level, whether preparing for exams, recitals, or learning for personal enjoyment. Alongside piano, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, and composition, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of music. Lessons can be conducted online or in-person for children, teens, and adults. My ultimate aim is to develop students who are technically skilled, creatively expressive, confident, and motivated, with a lifelong passion for music.
