About Lorraine

I live in WA and when not teaching I run events and programs with libraries.

I also write books for adults and children and am currently working on an early-reader series.

I pride myself on being reliable, approachable and willing to foster good relationshiops with my students.

I have taught a lot of students who thought they were not smart enough to study, and I find a lot of joy when they realise they are wrong! We can all learn, we just may need a different approach.

About the lesson

I am an approachable and flexible tutor and have been teaching for over 20 years.

My area of specialty is teaching early-stage university students, particularly those who struggle with confidence in education.

I have taught in Curtin University's Uniready enabling program for many years in the area of Academic writing and Communications and have helped many nervous students on their education journey, many of whom now have PhDs!

I am also an author and have written a book for students called 'You've Got This - Tips for the uncertain student' which is not so much a book on how to study but a book on how to be brave enough to start studying in the first place.

I also write fiction for adults and children and can teach creative writing.

My lessons can be tailored for the individual and run for 40 minutes plus 20 minutes for any Q & A or discussion.

I am located in Perth and can teach online.

I have a BA (English), MA Professional Writing and Literature, Associate Degree in Training and Development, and I am a PhD Candidate in Creative Writing.
