About Divya
Hello! I’m Divya, a CPA in Canada and a Chartered Accountant with an MBA in Finance. I bring a strong blend of academic knowledge and real-world experience, having worked with leading organizations such as Deloitte, EY, and the Government of Manitoba.
I understand that accounting can sometimes feel overwhelming, but my goal is to make it clear, structured, and even enjoyable to learn. I take pride in creating a supportive and patient learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence step by step.
I am highly organized, punctual, and committed to delivering quality sessions tailored to your individual goals—whether you are preparing for exams, strengthening your fundamentals, or tackling advanced concepts. My Approach as a Tutor
Teaching Methodology & Techniques
My teaching approach is focused on concept clarity, structure, and real-world application. I believe that accounting becomes much easier when students understand the “why” behind the numbers, not just the formulas.
I break down complex topics into simple, step-by-step explanations, and use practical examples from my professional experience to make concepts relatable and easier to remember. I also encourage active learning through problem-solving, rather than passive listening.
A Typical Lesson Plan
Each session is structured but flexible based on your needs:
Quick Concept Review – Recap of previous topics or key fundamentals
Concept Explanation – Clear, simplified explanation of the topic
Worked Examples – Step-by-step solving of problems together
Practice & Application – You solve questions with my guidance
Feedback & Tips – I highlight common mistakes and exam strategies
Summary & Next Steps – Key takeaways and plan for the next session
What Sets Me Apart
CPA + Big 4 + Government experience – I bring real-world insights, not just textbook knowledge
Ability to simplify difficult topics quickly
Strong focus on exam preparation and scoring strategies
Patient, structured, and adaptable teaching style
I focus on building long-term understanding, not short-term memorization
