About Ryan
I am a graduate of the University of Oklahoma in Chemical Engineering and Cornell University in Biomedical Engineering, with professional experience as a Cloud Engineer. I bring both academic excellence and real-world problem-solving skills to my tutoring. My goal is to make complex subjects approachable, engaging, and rewarding. Students can expect clear explanations, structured lessons, and a supportive environment that builds confidence.

My Teaching Method and Techniques
-I focus on making complex topics simple, relatable, and even fun. My approach combines:
-Active learning – students explain concepts back to me, which reinforces retention.
-Real-world connections – linking math and science to everyday examples or engineering problems so the “why” is clear.
-Step-by-step breakdowns – no skipping steps; we build confidence by mastering fundamentals before tackling advanced material.
-Adaptive pacing – I quickly identify where a student struggles and adjust explanations, examples, or practice problems.
A Typical Lesson Plan
-Warm-up (5 min) – Quick review of the previous topic with a fun question or problem.
-Concept Focus (15–20 min) – Introduce the new topic with clear explanations and worked examples.
-Guided Practice (20 min) – Students solve problems with my support, asking questions as we go.
-Independent Challenge (10–15 min) – One or two problems to solve alone, testing comprehension.
-Wrap-Up & Preview (5 min) – Summarize key takeaways and preview next steps.
(For younger students, I make this more interactive with visuals, analogies, and quizzes. For older students, I emphasize problem-solving strategies and exam techniques.)
What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor
-Engineering background: I bring the rigor of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering plus hands-on problem-solving from Cloud Engineering.
-Multi-subject expertise: Comfortable tutoring Chemistry, Algebra, Calculus, and IT at different levels.
-Fun + approachable: I balance serious learning with a relaxed, encouraging environment. Students feel comfortable asking questions.
-Exam readiness: I teach not only content but also test-taking strategies for high school, AP, or college exams.
Who My Lessons Are For
-High school students needing help in Algebra, Chemistry, or AP Calculus.
-College students in entry-level Chemistry, Calculus, or IT courses.
-STEM-focused learners preparing for standardized tests or advanced coursework.
-Curious learners who want a stronger foundation in math, science, or tech for future studies.
