About John
Technical precision defines my 13 years of piano instruction for students ranging from absolute beginners to advanced players. I prioritize clear, methodical development in pop styles, jazz improvisation, music theory, and accompaniment skills. Ear training and sight reading form the backbone of my work.

Your initial 60 minutes involve a detailed assessment of your current technical capacity. Weekly practice modules assigned with every class ensure consistent progress that you can actually hear during our studio time.
My background as a graduate of the Berklee College of Music informs how I break down complex rhythmic structures. I often find that students benefit from dissecting contemporary pieces through the lens of traditional theory.
