I start with what the student already knows, assess any difficulties, and look for examples drawn from everyday life or areas of interest to facilitate understanding. I place particular emphasis on writing and reasoning in mathematics, and on English vocabulary. My goal is for the student to understand, regain confidence, and gradually become independent. I have experience working with diverse student profiles, including students with learning disabilities (dyslexia, autism, giftedness).
