About Peter
I am a student at the University of York working towards a degree in Computer Science (with a year in industry), currently working at a First Class with distinction level. I have worked as a Software Engineer at Thales so can explain the real world applications of the academic material we will cover. As a STEM ambassador I am fully DBS certified and have enjoyed guiding students through everything from hackathons to building remote controlled robots for competitions.

I think the most important thing in teaching is adaptability.
There isn't a single technique that's perfect for everyone, but everyone has a technique that works best for them. I aim to work with each student to find out how they learn, so that on top of our sessions being as productive as possible they can also continue to learn effectively in the future.
I approach each topic as two halves, understanding the concept and applying the knowledge.
This way there are no problems when the format of an exam question changes, the student will be able to recognise the topic, pick out the relevant concept, and apply it to create whatever solution they need.
