About Joey
After tutoring in London for 4 years I have moved to Newcastle to continue my studies. I tutored a large number of students from primary school age to GCSE students. I make an effort to understand a student’s needs so I can decide the best way to help them with their studies. This approach helped me to teach two pupils with severe ADHD because I worked with them to come up with systems to keep them engaged. The mother of one of these students said I did an excellent job to make sure he enjoyed our sessions and made it feel less like a chore. Another client said
‘I really did not enjoy maths GCSE before I started with Joey, after just a couple months of lessons math has become my favourite subject, and I am now working towards doing it for Alevel.’
I am always punctual and I am happy for my clients to message me with any questions they have during the week.

I believe each student has a particular way of learning so I begin by assessing their skills and aptitudes and work out a plan from there. My sessions are very laid back and informal and I aim to put the student at ease as soon as possible to ensure they are engaged and confident.

My rate will change depending on travel cost and time.
The first missed lesson I give for free but after that I charge the full amount. I allow cancellations until 4 hours before the lesson otherwise I charge the full amount unless there are mitigating circumstances.
