About Abtin
Starting out as a student myself, I did not have a very strong base in math or STEM in general. What allowed me to improve and develop was my approach to problem solving. When I found out how to strategize my approach to a problem, I also developed a better and deeper understanding of the concept as a whole and this is a notion that I want to develop with my own students. I believe math is a subject where anyone can excel in.

As an experienced tutor for 3 years at my high school, it is imperative to establish certain strategies and goals towards a particular problem. When I work with my students, I walk through and break down the problem step-by-step and encourage the student to ask questions during the process. Engagement and interaction are crucial when a student is learning a new concept. A typical lesson plan would be to start out with a lecture on the topic, using an example problem; I like to use a notetaking tool to list out the steps as me and the student go through the problem, which I will then send to the student for reference. We will also go through a couple of practice problems at the end.
