About Krishnang
You're in good hands! I'm a Computer Science and Data Science student at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, with strong academic experience in math, programming, and problem-solving. I’ve tutored middle and high school students in a range of topics, from algebra and geometry to Python and Java—always with a focus on making complex ideas easier to understand. My top priority is to create a supportive, respectful, and judgment-free learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I’ll always take the time to explain concepts in different ways until they make sense. Whether you're preparing for a test, catching up, or aiming to get ahead, I’ll work with you patiently and clearly to help you meet your goals. Let’s tackle challenges together, step by step, at your pace.

As a tutor for middle school to high school students, I take a student-centered, adaptable, and empathetic approach to teaching. I specialize in math and college prep, and my goal is not just to help students improve their grades, but to ensure they truly understand and feel confident in the material.
Teaching Method and Techniques
I believe that no two students learn in the exact same way. That's why I will tailor each lesson to the student's learning style, whether they grasp concepts better through visual aids, analogies, practice problems, interactive activities, or step-by-step logic. My strength as a tutor lies in my flexibility; if a student doesn’t understand a concept one way, I’ll try different explanations until something clicks.
I also focus on building foundational understanding. Rather than encouraging memorization, I help students develop problem-solving skills they can apply across subjects and situations. I create a safe, supportive learning environment, where students are encouraged to ask questions and express confusion without judgment. My empathy and patience as a tutor help students feel heard, respected, and capable.
A Typical Lesson Plan
A typical session is structured but adaptable:
Quick review of previously learned material or a check-in on current school assignments.
Identify today’s goal (e.g., mastering solving equations, understanding new concepts in calculus, etc).
Interactive instruction where I explain the concept in a way that fits the student’s style—this may involve drawings, analogies, breaking down real-life examples, or walking through problems step-by-step.
Guided practice, where I help the student solve problems while offering tips, feedback, and correction as needed.
Independent practice, where the student tries a few problems on their own to build confidence.
Wrap-up and reflection, where we review what was learned and I assign or suggest practice problems or concepts to think about before the next session.
What Sets Me Apart
What truly sets me apart as a tutor is my commitment to clarity and empathy. I will never give up on helping a student understand a concept. I treat every student with patience and respect, always adjusting my teaching methods to meet their needs. I know from experience that students learn best when they feel supported, and I make it my mission to be that kind of support system for them.
As a Computer Science and Data Science student at UW–Madison with strong academic and teaching experience, I bring both technical expertise and the ability to communicate complex ideas simply. I’ve worked with students in one-on-one settings and understand how to help struggling learners thrive.
