About Avery
I'm a third-year Computer Engineering student at the University of Alberta, interested in biotechnology, game design, and mathematics. I love teaching people cool things that I'm interested in and that includes math! My teaching style is focused and organized, while keeping things upbeat when possible.

As a tutor, I like to keep things clear, fun, and focused. I work with students of all ages and skill levels in math—whether you’re just starting out, catching up, or working through advanced topics. My teaching style is all about learning through examples and real practice, with a bit of fun mixed in to keep things engaging. A typical lesson starts with a quick review, then we dive into examples together, and finish with some practice and a recap to make sure everything sticks. What makes me different is that I really try to make tough concepts feel simple and approachable, and I’m always patient and flexible with how we tackle things. My goal is to help each student feel confident and capable, no matter where they’re starting from.
