About Maebh

I’m a qualified educator with seven years of experience teaching and supporting learners from early primary right through to post-16. I hold two degrees in Performing Arts and Professional Practice, as well as a Master’s in Education, and I bring that depth of experience into every lesson I teach. My background in performing arts has shaped me into a highly adaptable and creative teacher who understands how to engage students of all abilities. I’ve worked across every area of education, from classroom teaching to curriculum design and one-to-one support, which means I know how to meet students where they are and help them move forward with confidence. While I specialise in English and literacy, I also support students with coursework, essay writing, creative subjects, and revision skills. My sessions are designed to build confidence, improve communication, and develop the skills students need to reach their academic goals, and to actually enjoy learning along the way.

About the lesson

I take a calm, confidence-building approach to teaching that focuses on helping students believe they can learn before anything else. Many learners struggle not because they lack ability, but because they’ve lost confidence, and I make it my mission to change that. My lessons are interactive, supportive, and tailored to the individual. I quickly identify where students are getting stuck and adapt my teaching style to suit their personality and learning needs. I use creative and engaging methods drawn from my performing arts background to make even challenging written work feel manageable and motivating. Typical sessions last around an hour, though for younger learners or those who find focus difficult, I offer shorter sessions or include breaks within the hour to maintain concentration. Lessons are suitable for students aged roughly 7 to 19 and can support a range of subjects that involve reading, writing, and analysis, including English, creative writing, performing arts, history, and related humanities. With seven years of teaching experience across different age groups and abilities, I am skilled in helping students improve literacy, structure exam answers, complete coursework, and build the confidence needed to meet or exceed their target grades. I also help with study skills, organisation, and revision strategies so that learners can work more independently over time.
