About Claire
With 8 years of ESL tutoring experience, I have helped over 180 students improve their English skills, from beginners to advanced learners. My goal is to make learning English exciting and useful, focusing on speaking, listening, grammar, and vocabulary. I understand how challenging learning a new language can be, so I create a supportive and friendly environment where students feel confident to ask questions and practice without fear. I believe in teaching English in the simplest and most useful way possible. My lessons are focused on helping students understand and use English in their daily lives. I use real-life examples, practical tasks, and short case studies to show how English works in real situations.
We might practice how to write an email, order food at a restaurant, ask for directions, or talk to a teacher. I avoid confusing grammar terms and instead focus on what works and makes sense to the student.
My teaching is flexible—I don’t stick to one method or book. I change my lessons based on what the student needs most. If a student learns better through speaking, we focus more on conversation.
If they need help writing, I provide writing tasks with real-life goals. I also focus on motivating students by making lessons fun, engaging, and goal-based.
Problem-solving is a big part of my lessons. I help students find solutions when they struggle with pronunciation, sentence building, or understanding fast speech.
I believe in teaching with integrity by giving honest feedback and supporting each student’s learning journey. I also apply this simple and practical approach to other subjects like communication skills, public speaking, and reading practice.
