About Ben
In addition to being a tutor, I am the author of eight novels and an editor of thirty more. My portfolio has been built from requests. I've been asked to stay with Chinese or Kyrgyzstani students for weeks or months to immerse them in the English language. I've been asked to teach a PhD candidate how to format their work. Or teach a stubborn six-year-old chess. Teach a nephrologist how to draw surgery diagrams. I'm proud of the CPAs, teachers and lawyers I've sent into the world. Who will be my next challenge?

I tutor kids and adults (and we can arrange group lessons). I assess where you are, where you're going and how you get there, but your learning begins from the first moment. If I include jokes and stories in your lessons it's because that's what you need. I get results. In 30+ years of teaching and tutoring I've fulfilled an extraordinary range of requests. I've done everything from homeschool supplement work for children of VIPs to training bank managers and estate lawyers in the fine points of their work. However, the majority is English skills and standardized tests, preparing both students and teachers. Feel free to ask me anything and I'll tell you if I can do it. Price breaks or addition cost will apply to some subjects.
