About Wyatt
I am currently a student at Columbia University, where I plan on majoring in political science and statistics. While I was in high school, I took every advanced math class I could get ahold of, including AP Calculus AB and AP Statistics (both of which I received a five on). Meanwhile, I regularly tutored algebra and geometry as a member of the National Honors Society and Mu Alpha Theta (Math National Honors Society). Additionally, I have tutored SAT and ACT math, the former of which I got a 780/800 on.
When I'm not obsessing over math, I enjoy reading, acting, and listening to music (I will gladly warble any Bob Dylan song for you). All the while, I regularly play board games with my family, where I try to harness the power of statistics.

My primary goal as a tutor is to make students comfortable during sessions. Doing so creates an environment where students are unafraid to share all their math-related worries, concerns, and triumphs. And being a recent high school graduate, I can do this particularly well because I know what it feels like to be dismayed by algebra, statistics, and trigonometry.
Apart from creating a cohesive class atmosphere, my teaching philosophy is based on individualized lessons. I do not use one textbook that assumes students struggle equally with all concepts. Instead, I identify students' specific needs and tailor my lessons accordingly.
