About Julie
I graduated from Columbia University with a degree in English literature and started teaching English in Japan almost right out of college. I then taught SAT preparation and writing for SAT prep companies, including The Princeton Review, before embarking on a career with the Division of Adult and Career Education, part of Los Angeles Unified School District. I taught English as a second language to adults for over 25 years, and some of those years I was a "teacher advisor" (basically a counselor). I have the skill to determine students' English level within a few minutes of speaking to them. I'm now semi-retired and looking to take on individual students.
