About Keighley
I am an art student, however I am also secretary of a writing club at my college. I work with members of the group, give writing advice, peer review and edit, give constructive advice, and I have a treasure trove of writing prompts and samples.

My teaching approach always starts with accessing the students needs and level, I take a very individual approach with each student so I can best help them. Once I understand where the student is skill-wise I ask them where they would like to begin, understanding their goals helps me to better instruct students. For a student centered around writing and or literature I would begin with small writing samples from the student to better understand their skill level, then build from there. I would give writing prompts and/or reading assignments to grow skills and give them practice, I would also give vocabulary assignments, this is necessary to help grow a students vocabulary, which in turn makes them a better writer. These assignments are not very involved and would not take an excessive amount of time, I do not want to overload students past their ability to work and manage time. In addition I always teach organizational skills, as a standard and is included without fee or extra time, I work it in so a student may learn to better manage their time and tasks.
