Many of my students enjoy hands on learning, right from the start of the lesson, using flash cards or acting out scenarios. I encourage students to spend the entire session in French, saving English as a last resort. In a typical lesson, we will have a timed conversation in strictly French, play a game related to the course material, practice sentence construction, and the student will “teach” learned concepts back to me to ensure comprehension.
