About Lissa
Are you excited to learn English? I am here to help you with all your needs when it comes to grammar, sentence structure, and helpful expressions in an engaging and fun environment! I am passionate about helping students because I want to help them reach their highest potential. I have a BA in international relations from American University through the School of international service, which is accredited as one of the top ten schools in the world. I have two years of tutoring/teaching experience with students from grades K-5th in reading and writing. During my time in college, I was taught by the best professors who turned me to in a great writer. I enjoy teaching such subjects because it is exciting to apply my expertises in an educational setting to help students prosper. I also enjoy this because I am enthusiastic about seeing students grow and gain skills that will help them achieve academic success. My teaching philosophy is that every student is distinctive in their own way and should have an invigorating environment where they can grow not only in their academic career, but other areas of life as well.

I will help you with exam preparation, accent reduction, school/job purposes, and speaking. I will do this by introducing you to my 5 step process which is vocabulary, visuals, mouth exercises, reading comprehension, and listening practice. Using the book, English for Everyone: Level 1: Beginner, Practice Book by Dorling Kindersley, I will step by step help you develop skills that will help you speak english soon!
During your first lesson, I will discuss the plan on how we can reach your goals. I can assist with anything you need help in as I will personalize a lesson plan for you that you are comfortable with and that will have you learning english at your own personal level.
